Popular Culture - English 101
Are you interested in talking to a native speaker about all manner of topics? This course is for you! The fastest way to become fluent and comfortable with the English language is to engage in casual and fun conversation. No matter your level of proficiency, your age or your background, let's have an enjoyable conversation together, and learn English along the way!
My name is Sam, I am an English teacher living and working in Japan. I have 4 years of teaching experience, and am friendly, relaxed and easy to talk to. I am greatly looking forward to hearing from you.
Some (but not all) of the topics we will discuss in this course are:
Current Events
Popular Culture (movies, music, books, games, sports, slang, celebrities)
Politics
History
Food
Travel
While I will always have a full lesson planned for you, if there is a particular topic that you would rather discuss, I am flexible and able to talk about anything that interests you! My lessons are typically 50% speaking and listening, and 50% reading, writing and grammar. While I believe a balance of speaking, listening, reading and writing is good for any student, if you prefer a purely conversation-based lesson, this too is entirely possible!
