These lessons are aimed at primary age children and can be altered to fit their abilities.
First we will talk about our family and who our mum and dad are, and where we live. We can talk showing pictures of our family and think about what they do in their lives- work, go to school, retired, look after someone.
We can talk about our day and what we do with our family and what we do with our friends, where we go and what we like. We can share photos of our family and friends and places we like to go to.
This is a general introduction to each other and to see what we can say and what we find difficult. We can use simple 3 letter words and expand from this. We can check our pronounciation of small words and letters we find hard. In a group of lessons we would learn 2 or 3 letters per lesson or more depending on the age of the child.
We can make it fun by using songs, rhymes and clapping out rhythms. We can make our own short rhyme using rhyming words or alliterations using words that sound the same- this aids spelling and prounounciation.
Its a relaxed way of learning and we can go as fast as the child can keep up, a calm and caring learning environment aids the childs potential where they can achieve their best.
