"How to entertain our pets while having fun?"

2.  Introduce common pets we keep at home  - show pictures

3.  Ask student to list all the things in the picture in 1 minute below
(will make a note of what student says)- for student reference during and after lesson

 First, let’s read the words and phrases. Please repeat after me once.

・ take good care of~

Mark promised his parents that he will take good care of his puppy, Spot.

・ have (my dog) vaccinated

Dog owners should have their pooch vaccinated regularly. (pooch = dog)

・ I promise to~

I promised to take very good care of our pet cat.

・ break a promise (easily)

If you don't walk Ruff, you're breaking your promise to me.

・I cannot let you, because~

Daddy can't let you take the leash because Max is a big dog and you're still small.

・ beg (my mother) to (buy me a dog)

We begged Mom to get/buy us a dog, and she finally gave in.

・ (taking care of a pet) is very tough

They were surprised to find out that taking care of a pet can be very tough.

・ trust~

Dogs love and trust their masters/humans wholeheartedly.

・ pros and cons

Let's weigh the pros and cons of having a pet before we get one.

・ take (the pet) for a walk

Taking Bella for her morning walk is enough exercise for me.

Conclusion and recap of the lesson

Today, we learned of the different kinds of pets, the important responsibilities that come with owning them and all the wonderful benefits they bring.  Always remember, a pet is a lifelong commitment and its important to be prepared to give them the best care and love possible.
