This is a class for students wanting to focus on their writing skills.
In each unit we will:
- Work on a specific writing skill, for example: essay organization, brainstorming, editing, word choice, linking words, comparing and contrasting, etc.
- Do exercises to practice this skill. Usually we will look at good example sentences and bad example sentences, and practice re-writing sentences.
- Look at a model piece of writing.
- Brainstorm ideas for your essay together.
- Make an outline of your composition.
- Get started on your first draft.
Please Note: This is NOT a class where I write an essay for you.
This is a guided class to help students become independent writers. I will help guide students through the whole writing process, so when it is time to write the actual essay, you have enough skills, examples, and ideas to start by yourself.
In each class, you have a writing assignment which you will submit after class. After submitting your essay, I will mark your essay and give you detailed feedback within 2 to 3 days.
This session includes Skype. We will work together for the 40 minutes on the lesson to sharpen your writing skills, and get enough ideas and inspiration for your writing assignment.
If you don't need a Skype class and want to write by yourself and have me correct your composition, please choose the other version of this class below.
