Do you love Japanese songs, anime music, or J-pop?
Have you ever thought…
“I love this song, but I don’t really understand the lyrics.”
“What does this Japanese phrase mean?”
“I want to sing along, but I’m not sure how to pronounce the words.”
“I want to learn Japanese in a fun and enjoyable way!”
If so, this lesson is for you!
In this lesson, we will use a Japanese song that you love as our learning material. We will look at the lyrics together, learn useful vocabulary and expressions, understand the meaning of the song, and practice Japanese pronunciation and rhythm.
The goal is not to become a professional singer.
This is a Japanese language lesson using music as a fun and engaging learning tool.
What we will do in the lesson
For example, if you choose a Japanese song you love, we can:
・Learn new vocabulary, expressions, and grammar from the lyrics
・Go through the lyrics and understand what they mean
・Practice reading the lyrics aloud
・Check your Japanese pronunciation
・Practice difficult words and phrases together
・Work on Japanese rhythm and natural pronunciation
・Practice singing the song in Japanese
You don't need to be a good singer!
If you love the song and want to understand and sing it in Japanese, that's enough.
What kind of songs can I choose?
You can choose any Japanese song you like!
Anime songs are especially welcome, but the lesson is not limited to anime music.
For example:
・Anime songs / anime theme songs
・J-pop
・Songs by Japanese artists
・Japanese movie or TV drama songs
・Songs from Japanese musicals
・Any other Japanese song you want to learn!
If you have a specific song in mind, please let me know when you book the lesson. I will do my best to accommodate your choice.

You don't have to be an advanced Japanese learner. We can adjust the lesson to your Japanese level.

**This is NOT a vocal training lesson.**
We will not focus on singing technique, pitch, or professional vocal skills.
Instead, this is a Japanese language lesson using song lyrics as learning material. Our goal is to help you understand the Japanese language in the lyrics and sing the song with more natural Japanese pronunciation and rhythm.
Because of copyright restrictions, I will not play or distribute copyrighted music or lyrics during the lesson.
Please prepare the lyrics of your chosen song before the lesson. I will not distribute copies of copyrighted lyrics.
