Learn how to speak with the North American accent.
You'll learn all about American speech patterns, intonation, tongue positioning, voice placement, breath, shadowing; stop consonants, vowel reductions, word linking, function/content words, the schwa, which sounds Americans erase--and when, the Flap T, pitch and syllable stress, voiced vs. unvoiced, and more.
You can continue on with me as your accent coach, or take the self-practice I teach you, and improve on your own. But with the materials and knowledge I provide, the choice will be yours.
Pronunciation is not only about individual sounds, it also involves intonation and Word Groups: Groups of words that flow together. This is a key aspect to North American pronunciation. We are a mumbling people. Our language is casual, and it flows. As a non-native, you're used to separating almost every word, using strong consonant sounds. In music theory that's called 'staccato'. But it's very un-American to speak that way. I will teach you how to modify sounds in order to create the American flow in your own speech.
