One of the key tools speakers or writers have is the imagination of the listening and reader. This is why we use metaphors; they paint pictures; they elicit emotions; they help us to communicate in a way that is illustrative and natural.
This course takes everyday metaphors and examines them, such as:
"One bird in the hand is better than two in the bush"
Question: What does the bird in the hand represent?
Question: What do the birds in the bush represent?
Question: What does the bush represent?
Question: Relate "missed opportunities" to this metaphor?
Question: Relate :wealth protection" to this metaphor?
Question: Why is it ok for some to risk and for others to not?
