Practice Real English Through Everyday Conversations

In this lesson, the focus is on small talk at work, which is one of the most common communication challenges for adult learners. The session starts with a short warm-up conversation to help the student feel relaxed and to activate their existing knowledge. From there, I introduce a set of useful expressions that professionals can use in everyday workplace interactions, such as greeting a colleague, making light conversation before a meeting, or chatting during a coffee break.
Once the student has practiced these phrases, I bring in a short role-play dialogue so they can hear the language used naturally in context. The main part of the lesson is interactive speaking practice: I role-play as a colleague while the student uses the new expressions, then we switch roles so they can lead the conversation. Throughout this stage, I provide immediate, constructive feedback that highlights their strengths while guiding them toward more natural phrasing and better pronunciation. To close the lesson, we review the target phrases together, reflect on progress made during the session, and set a practical homework task, such as writing a few small talk questions they can try in real life.
