Sherlock Holmes is famous around the world - did you know the author Arthur Conan Doyle was from Scotland?

Let's learn about a famous figure from Scotland - Arthur Conan Doyle!
He wrote the Sherlock Holmes books, which are now world-famous detective stories. We will learn about Arthur Conan Doyle's life and how he came to create the beloved Sherlock Holmes character. We can also discuss Sherlock Holmes himself.
In class we will practise:
Speaking - through some dicussion questions.
Reading - we will read some short texts about Arthur Conan Doyle, and a section of the Sherlock Holmes books.
Listening - I will speak about the topic or show a video clip from a Sherlock Holmes TV show and ask questions to practise listening.
(Optional writing - if you would like to practise writing let me know and I will provide a writing exercise.)
