Lesson Focus: The Conversational Structure "Это + Noun (Nominative Case)"
1) Introduction of the Topic (Using Picture Cards):
a) Explaining the function of the word "это" (this is) and the usage of the Nominative Case for nouns.
b) Detailed analysis of the Intonational Construction 1 (IC-1).
c) Practicing the phonetic blending of vowels and consonants at word boundaries.
Examples:
- "Это стол." (Pronunciation of [ъ] instead of [о] in the unstressed position, along with a pitch drop on the vowel [о] in the word "стол" to emphasize its focal role in this construction).
- "Это Анна." (A key feature here is the smooth phonetic transition, merging the sounds [ъ] and [а] into a single long [а:] at the word boundary).
2) Practice & Drills:
Reinforcing the structure using an extensive selection of visual materials and real-life examples.
3) Introducing Conjunctions:
- Introducing the adversative conjunction "а" (but/and). Example: "Это стол, а это стул." (This is a table, and this is a chair).
- Introducing the coordinating conjunction "и" (and) to highlight the absence of contrast. Example: "Это стол, и это стол." (This is a table, and this is a table too).
4) Intensive Production:
Mastering the target patterns through a wide variety of communicative exercises and context-based drills.
