Conversational English - an introduction
Hi!
For our first meeting, I want to introduce myself, to get to know you and discover where you stand on the ladder of English. Are you a complete beginner on the first rung? Do you know some words and phrases? Can you hold a conversation? Are you further up the ladder than you realise?
Understanding this helps me to know how I can help you climb the ladder. We can discover mutual interests, establish a connection and decide how to move forward positively.
There is no magic, no instant solution. I want you to speak with confidence, and you will develop the ability to do this through practice and positive feedback.
I'm happy to speak with anyone of any age, any background. We are all individuals and it's exciting to think about how we can work together in a way that uses your interests in order to use English. I won't stop you while you talk, I won't correct you as you go. If I identify areas of weakness I can develop ways to address them, to help you improve in all areas of spoken English.
We can also work on written English - I am very happy to set homework for you that I can assess and help you with - so your reading and writing can improve along with your speaking and listening.
This is all in the future. For the first lesson, let's introduce ourselves, talk and laugh.
