課程介紹
This lesson will help students improve their English pronunciation. The focus is on four common vowel sounds: /ɪ/ as in sit, /iː/ as in seat, /æ/ as in cat, and /ʌ/ as in cup. These sounds are sometimes difficult for beginners because they can sound very similar, so the lesson gives students practice in listening carefully and saying the sounds clearly.
The lesson also introduces word stress. In English, one part of a word is usually stronger or “louder” than the others. For example, in the word banana the middle part is the strongest: ba-NA-na. Stress is important in English because it makes words easier to understand.
During the lesson, students will start with a short warm-up using pictures and familiar words. They will then listen to and repeat the new sounds, play a listening game to practise recognising the difference, and practise saying words in pairs such as ship and sheep or cat and cut. After this, they will learn how to hear and use stress in words like teacher, computer, and banana. Students will practise these words together and then use them in short sentences. Towards the end of the lesson, they will ask and answer simple questions using the new words, giving them a chance to use the sounds and stress in real communication.
By the end of the lesson, students will be more confident in hearing and pronouncing important English sounds. They will also understand how to use word stress in common words, which will make their English clearer and easier for others to understand.
