Learning Activities with Challenges & Solutions

  1. Story Time – “Listen & Answer”

    • Activity: Play a short story or read aloud. Ask 3–5 questions afterward (e.g., “Who is in the story?”, “What happened first?”).

    • Challenge: Students may zone out or miss details.

    • Solution: Pause frequently, ask prediction questions mid-story, and use pictures to support understanding.

  2. Songs & Rhymes – “Sing & Learn”

    • Activity: Teach a simple English song or rhyme. Highlight new vocabulary and have children repeat it.

    • Challenge: Students may struggle to catch new words.

    • Solution: Use gestures, show flashcards, or act out the meaning. Repeat lines several times before singing fully.

  3. Listening Bingo – “Mark the Word”

    • Activity: Give students bingo cards with words or pictures. Call out words/phrases; students mark the correct item.

    • Challenge: Students may be distracted or mark incorrectly.

    • Solution: Model the game first, call words slowly, and provide one-on-one support if needed.

  4. Following Instructions – “Simon Says / Multi-Step Tasks”

    • Activity: Play “Simon Says” or give 2–3 step instructions (e.g., “Touch your nose, then clap your hands”).

    • Challenge: Children may forget steps or act too quickly.

    • Solution: Demonstrate actions first, repeat instructions slowly, and allow extra time to respond.

  5. Sound Recognition – “Guess the Sound”

    • Activity: Play environmental, animal, or phonics sounds. Students identify them and discuss what they heard.

    • Challenge: Students may confuse similar sounds or lose focus.

    • Solution: Give hints, repeat sounds, and use images for matching. Make it a fun guessing game.
