Hello! My name is Mariia. I am a native Russian speaker currently living and working in Japan.
If you are interested in the Russian language and culture, I offer a supportive and highly personalized environment to help you begin or continue your journey. We will use English as our bridge, allowing you to practice both languages simultaneously - an efficient and rewarding way to learn.
Our lesson focus:
1) Oral proficiency: we prioritize natural dialogue and practical phrases. My goal is to help you feel the rhythm of the language and start speaking from the very first session.
2) Romanized support (transliteration): to ensure a smooth and immediate start, I provide Russian words written in English letters. This allows us to focus entirely on your speaking and listening skills before transitioning to the Cyrillic alphabet, should you choose to learn it later.
3) Accurate pronunciation: I will guide you through the nuances of Russian phonetics with patience, helping you build confidence in how you sound.
4) Cultural context: beyond vocabulary, we will explore the logic and traditions behind the language, explained clearly in English for a deeper understanding.
