The Book of The Songs "Shi Jing"(诗经) is the collection of ancient Chinese poetry, the first collection of poems, collecting the early Western Zhou Dynasty to the mid-Spring and Autumn Period (11th century to the 6th century) poetry, a total of 311 articles.
It reflects the Chinese society of about 500 years from the beginning of the Zhou Dynasty to the late Zhou Dynasty.
Most of the author of The Book of Songs cannot be verified.
The Book of Songs is rich in content, reflecting the labor and love, war and corvee, oppression and resistance, customs and marriage, ancestors and banquets, and even astronomy, landforms, animals, plants and other aspects, is a mirror of the social life of the Chinese Dynasty.
By studying classical Chinese literature, students can develop their cultural heritage and understand Chinese characters better so that they can better use Chinese.
