Is being creative enough to succeed in innovation? (Advanced lesson - read at home/speak in class)
Let's discuss the article "The Surprising Psychology of Innovation" by Eric Haseltine Ph.D. and learn advanced phrases, practice word formation and reflect on what it takes to succeed in innovation.
Подробности урока
The lesson starts with a brief discussion in which students brainstorm the words they associate with the word innovation and justify their choices. Next, they look at four pairs of phrases and try to explain to each other the difference in meaning in each pair (e.g. bring about changes vs foster changes). The following task refers to the ‘innovation equation’ which students already read about in the article set as homework. They agree or disagree with the idea and discuss how it could be used by entrepreneurs to foster innovation. After the discussion, students focus on another vocabulary task. They read five gapped statements and have to change five given verbs into the correct parts of speech to complete the sentences . After this word formation task, students once again read the five statements related to the lesson topic and decide whether they agree or disagree with them.
