Подробности урока

In this special International Women's Day lesson, let's learn more about Rita Taketsuru, a Scottish women who moved out to Japan with her Japanese husband Masataka Taketsuru in 1920.  Together they went on to play a major role in Yamazaki Distillery near Kyoto and eventually founded Nikka whisky and opened Yoichi Distillery in Hokkaido.

Find out more about Rita's life in my hometown in Scotland where she met Masataka and I'll share some photos from our local museum about their story.

This will be a fun and relaxing lesson considering cultural connections between Scotland (UK) and Japan as well as Rita's contribution to the success of Japanese Whisky.
