HOW TO DIFFERENTIATE QUALITY LESSONS FROM LOW-QUALITY LESSON

We pay money and want results. And the better it can be, the better. If you are on the verge of thinking about which tutor to send your child to, then this note is just for you. So when you call about making a class appointment, ask the following!

1. How many years has the tutor or organization been working? Of course, tutors with experience have built up their work experience somewhere, because they did not immediately become experienced specialists with fifteen years behind them!? Therefore, when evaluating this aspect, do not overdo it, there may be a promising teacher on the other end of the telephone line. But you will not lose 100% if you trust a person who has been working in the market of tutoring services for at least three years. This will indicate that she has stayed in this market and that she has clients who probably recommend her, otherwise this tutor would have disappeared into the unknown, as it often happens.

2. How many children are there in the group? Often, in order to increase profits, especially in large cities, tutors offer to work in large groups of 6-12 children. It is not effective to work in a mini-group larger than 3-4 children. Why is this so? - The fact is that it is very difficult to choose children of approximately the same age, the same level of knowledge and at the same time so that it does not coincide with dances, swimming pool and other groups of all members of the group. Do you understand what is the matter here? Children can be placed in a group that matches precisely in terms of time, but not in terms of knowledge, so children will study with the same result as in a regular school. It is not a fact that they will teach badly, but why pay more?!

WARNING! Do not be confused! There is an exception! And these are conversational courses, which are mostly attended by high school students (usually from 9th grade) and adults who have a certain knowledge base and want to improve their skills, rather than learn the material from scratch or fill in the gaps. In this case, a group of 8-12 students is acceptable. But if you are interested in the services of tutors, you should look for a tutor, not courses!

3. Another secret. Ask how long it will take to study the subject. No professional will promise you a result without knowing your child or you if you are studying yourself. Everything depends on... By the way, ask what it depends on! If you are told the factors that influence the assimilation of the material, you are in front of a good specialist. (Factors: child's age, mental abilities, physical development, psychological characteristics, time for homework, mindset, home learning environment, family and peer relationships...). It's not everyone. At least it will become clear to you.

4. Is this tutor recommended? If you heard something good about the tutor from someone, then this is also an indicator. We are not often able to independently assess the skills of a particular specialist due to a large number of reasons. One of them is that we ourselves do not know the subject for which we enroll the child. Therefore, recommendations are something that can help us. By the way, ask the children themselves who are studying.

5. Ask if the teacher can prepare for the external examination and teach grammar. Confidence in your voice is something to look out for if you can't rely on feedback from other people. Ask about teaching methods.

6. Ask to tell about your own experience working with children. If it is not difficult, then the teacher is probably open to people. While listening, evaluate how he responds to children. A person who is open and friendly will teach your child the same!

Keep in mind! It can be difficult for a tutor who is just starting his teaching journey to talk about his experience because it has not yet been worked out. It's normal because you can't buy experience! It is earned by giving your heart to children. It is worth giving a chance to a young person. Perhaps she will grow into a valuable teacher. Focus on the human qualities of the tutor and on the further success of your child at school, which he will earn by visiting the chosen specialist.

And it is important to know the following

Why should you study with a tutor who works in a specialized training center? - The fact is that there is control over him: he works at a certain time, according to a certain program, undergoes training, internships, and practices sharing experiences with other team members. And the bigger the team, the better. A teacher who works alone cannot always comply with these mandatory conditions. To find out who is behind the training center! If the owner is one person, control over all employees will be concentrated in his hands. If there are several owners, they can simply unite as specialists who work for themselves; and they need the name of the organization to create an image. In this case, of course, everyone is responsible for their own actions.

This is important to know as well

Find out what the tutor thinks about his competitor! You may learn a lot of interesting things. A person who likes to discuss gossip and start quarrels with his opponents should not be trusted by his children or trusted AT ALL.

Finally, a recommendation: just in case, demand to conclude a contract for the provision of services, because in that case, God forbid, you will not be able to prove that you worked with one or another specialist!

Best wishes for success!
