Hello! My name is Paul.
こんにちは!ポールです。
I’m from Florida in the U.S., but I now call Tokyo my home. I’ve been living in Japan for almost 5 years, and I absolutely love it here!
I’m a professional writer with a graduate degree and TEFL certification. Back in the U.S., I worked as an advertising copywriter and creative director, so I know how to make learning fun and engaging.
When I’m not teaching, I’m usually working on my hobbies: writing screenplays and novels, writing songs and playing guitar, or tending to my bonsai trees. I also have a deep love for creating pottery and a great appreciation for Japanese ceramics—the artistry and tradition behind it truly inspire me. Creativity is a big part of my life, and I bring that same energy to my lessons!
I’m comfortable teaching a wide range of subjects, including business, technical and professional English (like medicine, law, accounting, and manufacturing)--as well as English for travel, academic English, and test preparation (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.). I also love teaching children, travelers, retirees, and anyone who wants to learn! No matter your age or goals, I believe the best way to learn is by focusing on what you love. That’s why I tailor my lessons to your interests and needs, whether it’s mastering workplace communication, preparing for an exam, or simply exploring the world with confidence.
Let’s make learning English enjoyable and effective—together!
よろしくお願いします!
