Komaba 講師的自我介紹
I lived in the US for a total of 9 years, both as a student (3years) and also worked in the New York office of a large trading company (6 years) . So I have no problem in communicating in English. I also passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test and completed 420-hours Japanese Language Teaching Training Course. I have been teaching Japanese to resident foreigners for 7 years. I now teach mostly online and a major focus is JLPT preparation, from N5 to N1. Five years experience of working in the Personnel Department of the trading company is also helpful to the students. My students tend to be long term, such as more than 5 years with weekly lesson, and I enjoy observing their steady growth in Japanese proficiency.
My residence is in Yokohama, however, my hobby is traveling and Japanese history; last year I passed "Nara Expert Exam 1st Grade", which is a necessity for a professional Nara tourist guide. I have travelled to many historic sites in Nara and nearby prefectures. I also like to read classical Japanese literature which inlcudes reading with a Chinese student "Makurano Soushi" in its original Japanese.
I would like the students to become aware of precious characteristics of Japanese society which has been nurtured through a long history. At the same time I would like to assist them in preparing for the JLPT exam, which is instrumental in their career development, obtaining residency permit, etc. I would enjoy making fruitful friendship with my students.
