Hi! My name is Lesia, and I’m so happy to meet you from my home in Edmonton, Canada.
If you are looking for a teacher who is patient, experienced, and truly understands the journey of learning a language, you’ve found the right place. I spent 12 wonderful years living and teaching in Japan, working with everyone from energetic 3-year-olds to students in their 80s. I know exactly what it’s like to live between two cultures!
I believe that learning should feel like a conversation between friends. Currently, I work as an Educational Assistant and online tutor, specializing in:
Elementary Phonics: I love helping children move from "letter sounds" to "reading stories." We use fun tools (and even "Word Sandwiches!") to make reading feel like a game.
Supportive Literacy: My goal is to make reading stress-free for bilingual kids and beginners.
Relaxed Adult Conversation: Whether we are chatting about daily life or working on a crochet project together, I provide a calm space for you to find your "English voice."
When I’m not teaching, I’m usually surrounded by yarn and plants. I love to crochet, listen to 90s alternative rock, and spend time with my resident "Teaching Assistant," Professor Cat (Blake).

I understand how intimidating it can be to start something new, but I am here to support you every step of the way. Whether you are a parent looking for a reading boost for your child or an adult looking for a friendly chat, I can’t wait to see you in class!
