Hello! I'm Joy from Singapore, now living in Tokyo. I am a certified English (DELTA) and Chinese (CTCSOL) teacher with 5 years of teaching experience. Most of my experience is related to teaching exam preparatio. I believe in the power of good exam results, because they can change our lives. This is why I want to help you achieve the results you want so that you can improve your life.

你好，我是来自新加坡的Joy，现在居住东京，毕业于新加坡国立大学的建筑系。我有5年的教学经验，也持有伦敦示范学院的DELTA与中国教育部的CTCSOL证书。我的大部分经验都与备考教学有关。好成绩可以改变人生的轨迹，所以我想帮您拿到最理想的成绩。

I taught Cambridge 'O' Levels English in Singapore / 在新加坡教过剑桥O水准的英语课程 


As a teacher with experience teaching exam preparation, I can quickly assess a student's strengths and areas of improvement by listening to them speak or reviewing their writing. I will then be able to recommend a customised approach for the student, which also includes an independent study plan so that the student can practice and improve outside the lesson. For exams like HSK/ HSKK, IELTS and TOEIC, I have developed my own methods and materials that I believe are efficient and effective in helping a student improve.
作为一名拥有备考教学经验的教师，我可以通过聆听学生的发言或审阅学生的作文，快速评估学生的优势和需要改进的地方。然后，我就能为学生推荐合适的学习方法，其中还包括独立学习计划，以便学生在课外独立进行练习。关于 HSK，HSKK，雅思和托亚等考试，我已经开发了自己的教学方法和教材，为了能够有效地帮助学生提高成绩。

 

My parents immigrated from China to Singapore when I was 2, so I grew up using both English and Chinese everyday. Singapore uses British English as the official language and I've worked for an American company, so I am familiar with both American and British English. I speak both standard Chinese (putonghua), which is the accent commonly spoken in China, and the Southern accent, which is common in Southeast Asia and South China. I can also use simple Japanese to explain during lessons.

两岁时我的父母从中国移民到新加坡，我从小每天都接触英语和汉语。新加坡通用英式英语，但我以前在一家美国公司工作，所以熟悉美式和英式英语。我能说普通话，也能用南方口音。上课时，我也可以用简单的日语解释。

Besides teaching, I love travelling, cooking with my husband, baking and photography. I've visited 15 countries and have also written a recipe book!
