Shayna 講師的自我介紹
Hello, I am Shayna!!! I am currently living in Europe. I have been traveling a lot and Asia is my favorite place to visit. I have a small Lhasa Apso, he is my family and my joy.
My passion is traveling and photography, and experiencing different cultures. I love Tea!! It's my daily beverage and elixir of youth.
I am also passionate about art, and I work as a freelancer (website, photography, and marketing, communication, as well as social media). During my free time, I love to study languages (right now I am learning Korean and Portuguese).
Through my professional experience, I met people from all over the world, I love connecting and experiencing different cultures. I have always been a multicultural person and I like to call myself a citizen of the world!
Although I mostly interacted with adults for the past years, I love children and used to do after school program and babysitting. I must say I have a natural bond with kids which allows me to hold a conversation about each and everything and help them learn in a fun way. Kids are very quick at learning and processing information and I find it amazing. I actually encourage all parents to start language training as early as 4-5 years old.
Teaching Style
I am very easy going and flexible. My teaching style differs from one student to the next and even on subjects but I focus more on conversational English. I encourage students to choose their own learning material, which leads to more confident, more capable, and more interested students. Once I have identified the unique personality the learner fell into, I focus on a customized program, communication, and fun motivators to maximize the learning process.
Teaching Experience
I worked in Education, International Relations and Diplomacy. We organized and build workshops and courses from scratch every month. We had about 1000 courses per year.
Motivation for teaching
Now I am a digital Nomad and a freelancer and since I travel around a lot, I chose to do only virtual work such as web design, marketing and communication and now online teaching. I have experienced through travel and my professional life how daunting it could be for foreigners from all walks of life, to express themselves in English. In spite of the fact that they have learned English, The lack of practice totally frightens them once they find themselves in front of someone speaking English. Most of them know what to say but they completely freeze when asked questions in English. My first approach is to get to know you and make you feel comfortable enough to let go of your fears by slowly asking questions and listening, I become your confidant. Once you totally open up, I start the program by introducing it slowly. My goal is to empower, inspire and help you feel more confident.
