Hello! I’m Atsuko. Thank you so much for visiting my profile!

I have been living in Spokane, Washington, for over 15 years. Before becoming a Japanese tutor, I worked as a Head Cake Decorator at a specialty bakery. Today, I balance my time between teaching Japanese and creating handmade jewelry.

Having lived abroad for many years, I deeply understand both the challenges and the excitement of learning a second language.

My teaching motto is "Casual, Free, and Fun!" With over 600 lessons completed online, I strive to create a relaxed environment where you feel like you're chatting with a friend at a coffee shop.

My Lessons are Perfect for You if:

• You want to increase your opportunities to speak Japanese.

• You feel a bit nervous talking to native speakers and want a supportive environment.

• You want to learn natural, everyday Japanese or the unique Osaka dialect.

• You enjoy talking about hobbies like cooking, crafts, or pets!

My Interests:

• Baking: As a former professional cake decorator, baking is my specialty!

• Handmade Jewelry: I create one-of-a-kind jewelry using vintage parts and gemstones.

• My Dogs: I am a huge animal lover and have 3 wonderful dogs at home!

• Japanese Cuisine: I love Japanese food and am looking forward to my trip back to Japan this October.

A Message to My Students:

Please don't worry about making mistakes or your vocabulary level. The most important thing is to enjoy the conversation and express yourself. Let's have fun learning Japanese together at your own pace!
