Self Introduction
Hi! I’m Jon, a British English teacher and former IT professional with over 25 years of experience in corporate environments. I specialize in Office English and Technical English for IT professionals, but I also teach General English to learners who want to improve fluency, confidence, and everyday communication. Whether you're preparing for a meeting or just want to chat more naturally, I’ll help you reach your goals.
Teaching Background
Before becoming a full-time educator, I worked across a wide range of IT roles including engineer, team manager, and solution architect. My experience spans data security, infrastructure design and maintenance, incident response, service management, project management, data centre operations, and disaster recovery planning. I hold a 168-hour TEFL certificate and have been teaching English for two years, combining my technical expertise with learner-focused instruction to support professionals and everyday learners alike.
Teaching Style
My lessons are practical, structured, and tailored to your needs. I use authentic scenarios, roleplays, and targeted language practice to help you express yourself clearly — whether in meetings, emails, casual conversations, or interviews. I focus on building confidence and autonomy, guiding you with patience, clarity, and a sense of humor. Whether you're learning English for work or personal growth, I’ll adapt to your pace and preferences.
