Hello!
I'm Santi, a language teacher with degrees in Translation and Interpreting (French and Italian) and International Relations. Above all, though, I'm someone who is passionate about communication and culture.
I started teaching Spanish about three years ago during my Erasmus exchange in Trieste, Italy. What began as a way to support myself while studying and living abroad gradually became one of my true vocations.
Over the years, I've lived in different parts of the world, including Canada, France, and Italy. These experiences have allowed me to look beyond my own culture while also gaining a deeper understanding of it. That's why I believe that intercultural awareness is an essential skill in today's world.
Some of my interests include politics, international relations, music, TV series, and many other topics. I'm naturally curious and always eager to learn from my students just as much as they learn from me.
I have two years of hands-on experience teaching Spanish, as well as a strong personal and academic background that has given me a deep understanding of the challenges involved in learning a new language.
Over the past two years, I've had the pleasure of working with students from a wide range of countries and cultural backgrounds. This experience has taught me that every learner is unique, allowing me to adapt my teaching style to different cultures, goals, and learning paces.
As a language teacher who has lived abroad myself, I've been exactly where you are now. I know how frustrating it can be to adapt to a new country and struggle to express yourself. That's why my lessons are a judgment-free space. I'm patient, flexible, and my main goal is to help you feel confident enough to make mistakes because, whether you like it or not, that's the only way to truly learn!
One thing you'll never miss in my lessons is culture. Not only Spanish culture, but the rich diversity of the entire Spanish-speaking world. As I often tell my students, you can master every grammar rule, become an expert in the subjunctive, and build incredibly complex sentences, but if you don't know where Ceuta is, how many languages are spoken in Spain, or what mate is, can you really communicate?
Language learning is about much more than grammar and vocabulary. It's about discovering a new culture, a new perspective, and a whole new way of understanding the world.
