Nice to meet you! Thank you for visiting my profile ♪

I’m Maaya, a Korean language tutor.

I was born and raised in Japan and learned Korean as a second language.
Since my parents are from South Korea, I naturally became interested in the Korean language. Starting with Hangul, I wanted to study Korean more seriously, so I went to study abroad and live in South Korea for five years.

In university I majored in Korean culture and literature, and to this day I enjoy reading Korean books.
In our lessons, I’d be happy to talk not just about studying, but also about Korean culture and book recommendations!

After graduating from university, I worked as a Korean language tutor for a year.
I’ve used my strength of “understanding the feelings of people learning Korean as a second language better than anyone” to provide thoughtful lessons that are considerate and support learners.

I’m good at explaining things from a language learner’s perspective, such as *parts that are easy to stumble over when learning Korean as a foreign language*, as well as questions such as “which expression sounds more natural?” and more♪

★Grammar + Conversation Practice
I will help you learn basics of grammar firmly, while building practical conversational skills.
I will also share study methods, tips, and how to memorize Korean vocabulary.

*Worked as a language tutor at a Korean language school for 1 year (primarily taught beginner to intermediate levels)


【Experience and Qualifications】
June 2016: Obtained TOPIK Level 6

December 2019: Obtained TOPIK Level 6

Watching dramas (both Japanese and Korean dramas!), listening to music, reading, and cooking
