Hi! I’m Dr. Edwin—or just Eddy.
I help learners—especially shy Asian students—speak English naturally, gain confidence, and communicate effectively in real conversations.

I’m a PhD-qualified, TESOL-certified communication coach with over 18 years of teaching experience. I spent 15 years in Australia as a university lecturer in Media and Communication, working with students from many cultural and language backgrounds. Born in Singapore, I grew up speaking English alongside Chinese, Malay, Tamil, and Singlish, so I understand the challenges of expressing yourself across languages and cultures. Now, I’m a digital nomad living with two cats in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

In our lessons, we focus on:

  • Speaking fluently and naturally

  • Thinking critically and expressing ideas clearly

  • Presentations and professional communication

  • Storytelling and sharing experiences

We can use entertainment, social media, or your favorite topics to make lessons engaging. I also bring experience running communication and wellbeing workshops, so we work on more than just language. You can feel safe exploring your ideas, expressing and working through your feelings, and practicing English with me.

I also use AI in a creative, practical way. For example, when facing interview questions about challenges or accomplishments, instead of memorizing standard answers, we explore your “mountains, rivers, and deserts” (strengths, values, challenges), which helps you expand your vocabulary and share your story in your own words. 

Lessons are online and best for intermediate to advanced learners who want to communicate clearly, confidently, and naturally.
