Hello, I'm Monique. It's great to meet you!
I am originally from the south of England in the United Kingdom, and I grew up in a town around 1 hour from London, the capital. Due to my upbringing, I have a southern British accent, similar to the Royal Family, which is what I would use to teach you English pronunciation.
I am an English tutor and have a globally recognised qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language. In addition, I am a qualified accountant, and have had a variety of high pressure financial roles in multinational corporations, including a global Japanese technology company. My qualification is CIMA (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
If you are seeking English lessons to help you communicate in a professional employment environment, I believe I would be an excellent tutor, because of my experience in English speaking companies, combined with my Teachning English as a Second Language accreditation. I could help you write your CV (resume), have a job interview, write emails, or handle a conference meeting in English. This will enable you to become an effective, confident communicator when using English in your workplace.
I enjoy playing and watching sports, including netball (a popular sport in the UK) and football (also known as soccer). I enjoy extreme sports such as scuba diving, skiing, windsurfing, kayaking and long, challenging hikes. I would love to talk to you about sports that you enjoy during your English lesson.
I am a lover of travel, and have visited 30 countries in the last year. One of my favourite parts of travelling is trying new food.
I love animals, and I have recently been taking care of two adorable dogs; a cute Irish terrier named Lola and a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback named Zindzi. If you love animals too, we could design an English lesson on the topic of animals.
My lessons will be structured into an enjoyable warm-up, an engaging activity, a testing challenge, and a warm-down. I may introduce English music, movies and television into my classes depending on your goals. If you have a specific goal you are aiming for, I can design a series of lessons to help you achieve these goals.
