Arthur アーサー 讲师的个人介绍
Hello! My name is Arthur and I have a bachelor's degree in Engineering. English was the primary language used throughout my education. I grew up watching a lot of Western shows and films. I also read books and other forms of literature in English. I have friends and family living in countries like the United States, Canada, and Australia who I speak with occasionally.
I received a 120-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate from myTEFL, a division of Footprints Language Education Ltd. in Vancouver Canada.
I have been working as a Software Engineer for more than 5 years and have had conversations with people of different nationalities in a corporate environment.
Teaching English
I started tutoring when I was in high school. Back then, I taught elementary students basic grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
After receiving my certification, I started teaching English online to students from Japan. I helped them with their grammar, vocabulary, diction and sometimes we would just chat about anything they wanted to.
Interests and Hobbies
When I'm outdoors I usually go for long walks or even running. I find that light exercise helps clear my mind. I am also a fan of football.
When I'm not going out or studying, I usually do some reading, watch a show or movie and occasionally play video games.
Most of the media I consume are primarily from the West or Japan. I enjoy films, shows, books, comic books, manga, and anime a lot. The comedy, drama, fantasy, adventure, and mystery genre are what I watch the most. From time to time I also watch the occasional horror or thriller.
I enjoy learning about different cultures and other languages. I also like reading or learning about the latest in science and technology.
My Lessons:
I didn't learn English just by being in a classroom. I experienced it myself through years of watching, reading, listening, and talking to people. We all learn things at different speeds but I think our interests can help us learn faster.
I intend to make the lessons match your interests and needs. Tell me what you like, why you want to learn English and what you're going to use it for. These things will help me understand what we need to focus on.
I plan to keep the environment fun, relaxed, and encouraging but also focused on results. Just because you're learning doesn't mean you can't have a good time, right?
Please take a look at my lessons for more information on what I can offer. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. If you don't see a type of lesson suited to your needs or interests, let me know and I would be happy to provide it for you if I can.
I look forward to speaking with you!
I live in a small country and I am grateful that I was able to learn English because it opened a lot of doors for me academically, professionally and personally. I want others to have that same opportunity and I want to do what I can to help. I appreciate the time you spent reading through my profile and I hope that we get the chance to know each other!
Thank you,
Arthur
