Hello! I’m Emma, a British English teacher living in Italy. I was born in Kent, in the south-east of the UK. I'm CELTA-qualified and I’m a friendly, creative and enthusiastic teacher. I have many years of experience helping students to improve their English and become more confident speakers. 


I have experience in teaching:

  • General English
  • Academic English including International Baccalaurate (language acquisition)
  • Business English
  • Exam preparation (Cambridge, OTE, IELTS and TOEFL)
  • Children, teens and adults
  • Students with learning difficulties

My professional history includes:

  • International schools with IB
  • Oxford School of English, Italy
  • Invigilator for Cambridge exam centres
  • Mother-tongue projects for state schools in Italy and Spain
  • Summer camp projects for French and Italian students
  • Staff training workshops for specific learning difficulties, classroom management and how to adapt lesson plans/examinations for dyslexia.
I believe learning a language should be enjoyable, not stressful. I create a relaxed and supportive environment where you can make mistakes, ask questions and progress at your own pace.

Outside teaching, I love art, music, cooking, travelling and learning about different cultures, so we’ll never be short of interesting things to talk about! I also speak Italian, Spanish and a little German and Greek. I love learning languages.
