Hello, my name is Karin.
Nice to meet you.
I love studying different languages, but I do not enjoy studying in a classroom setting, so I taught myself and studied independently.
- I have achieved N1 in the JLPT, and
- an IELTS band score of 6 in English.
- I am now studying Portuguese.
I also enjoy teaching languages to others, so starting in 2024, I began working as an online Chinese language teacher,
- and I have given lessons to around 100 people so far.
The purposes of learning another language will vary from person to person, but I believe there is only one method, regardless of the purpose.
That is,
- to repeatedly memorize words (input)
- and actually using the words you memorized (output).
Of course, in school, the typical way is to memorize th vocabulary and grammar points according to the textbook will studying diligently, but the methods used to acquire a language are not limited to just reading textbooks.
- But rather, reading manga,
- playing games,
- enjoying your favorite entertainment,
- and having conversations in that language can all be ways to learn a language.
For example, if you enjoy watching movies, you can enjoy learning Chinese by watching Chinese films.
Language learning is very personal and unique, and the contents you can learn from will vary depending on each person’s interests and preferences.
To fully understand and master any knowledge, it is necessary to actually use that knowledge over and over again. However, only the types of content that you enjoy and have a passion for can be revisited over and over again without the learning process feeling labored.
Let’s explore Chinese language contents that we can enjoy together, and use enjoyable study methods to explore a new world together.
