Hello, my name is Anthony Mullis. I am 24 years old and from Cincinnati, Ohio in the USA. I graduated in 2018 in three years (instead of the normal four) with a degree in Linguistics and International Studies. I first began studying languages at 14, starting with Spanish. I learned my third language, German, by teaching myself from books and videos online at 18, before moving on to French. At 19 I began to learn Swahili for the challenge of learning a less common language and had a good amount of success, conversing with immigrants in my college town. After this I went on to learn more, as I found I loved the challenge of learning and the rewards of being able to speak foreign languages, and have since taught myself Portuguese and Italian, as well as learning to read Norwegian, Russian, Dutch, and Catalan. I have been on both sides of the language learning equation, both learning them and teaching them, which has allowed me to develop a large amount of skills and learning techniques that I have applied with great success in my teaching history, combining traditional methods with my own based on personal experience and a background in Linguistics. Speaking on that, during my last year of high school, and during my three years of university, I worked tutoring English and Spanish to students, as well as in French for a year. Since graduating, I have gone on to provide Spanish and English lessons, both in person and online for 2 years as well. Outside of teaching, I have worked in outdoor education and tourism, having worked as a rock climbing instructors, a zip line tour guide, and at a ski resort hotel. In addition, I recently became a certified yoga teacher and am working towards a career in that field. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy climbing, surfing, snowboarding, and traveling the world. I am truly a lover of languages, and look forward to helping you with your journey. Let's talk soon!
