Hello there!
My name is Mayon, and I am from Grenada. It is a beautiful tri-island state located in the Caribbean. I enjoy tending to my garden, particularly to grow herbs and flowers. In addition, I like baking, cooking, reading a good mystery book, playing with my dog, and listening to R&B.
I have been a teacher for over twenty years, I have high standards for my pupils, and by the conclusion of our sessions, you will feel like you can accomplish any task that is put in front of you. You will develop the confidence and skills necessary to tackle challenges head-on. Together, we will explore various learning methods to ensure that you not only understand the material but also enjoy the process of learning. This is an important lesson that can be applied to life outside of the classroom.
Teaching Style:
The best way to characterize my teaching style is diverse. Even though I tend to be well-organized and focused, I might modify my teaching strategies to include resources and activities that would help every student achieve their learning objectives. I am an imaginative and adaptable educator who is aware of human nature and the wide range of student learning preferences. This skill I utilize to quickly build and keep up a great connection with you amazing students!
By encouraging open communication and collaboration, I hope to inspire a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom. I believe that fostering an inclusive environment is essential for student success, and I strive to create a classroom where everyone feels valued and empowered to express themselves. As a result, a high degree of trust grows, enabling me to offer guidance as we work to achieve our common goals and objectives.
Goals:
As an instructor, my goal is to help you achieve greater career and personal success by building on your prior knowledge and venturing into new, unexplored territory. I expect my students to perform at a level that challenges them to reach their full potential.
Experience:
I have experience teaching adults as well as elementary and high school students in English in Grenada and abroad. I'm entering my seventh year of teaching remotely, and I've worked with students from every continent.
In fact, I've resided in the UK and the Turks and Caicos Islands in the past in my role as a teacher. They were both unique and wonderful experiences. I was able to learn more about the cultures, social norms, and food. The fact that I was born and grew up in a tropical environment made my UK stint even more exciting. My first winter was spent building snowmen and playing in the snow. It was a magical experience that felt like stepping into a winter wonderland. I cherished every moment, from sipping hot chocolate by the fireplace to marvelling at the beauty of snow-covered landscapes. Home away from home, the TCI offered a unique blend of relaxation and adventure. Whether it was exploring the vibrant coral reefs or enjoying the local cuisine, each experience deepened my love for this enchanting place.
When I was tasked with teaching English online to students of various racial, age, religious, social, and educational backgrounds, these experiences turned out to be very helpful. Over the course of more than 60 months, my students gave me a lifetime performance evaluation score of 4.97 out of 5 because I was able to successfully negotiate and overcome these cultural disparities. This grade demonstrated not just my aptitude as a teacher but also my commitment to creating a welcoming and encouraging learning environment. As I kept interacting with my pupils, I came to see how our varied experiences enhanced the learning environment and made it a genuinely fulfilling experience for everyone.
Final word:Let's make rules easy:
