INTRODUCTION

Hello I’m Tony. I’m a native English speaker from the UK but for the last 6 years I’ve lived in Burghausen in Germany (on the border with Austria).

I started teaching English because of a Polish man who wanted to rent a room and asked if I could teach him some English. I asked a friend who taught English to give me some lesson ideas. Later, he asked me if I could teach a Polish friend of his, as well. So, I started teacher training and 11 years later here I am!
My first passion with English was to learn about the culture of my students, I always loved languages and as I to taught more English, I got to love English too and the challenge of teaching it.
 

My interests are in creative writing, rock music, reading fiction, travel and cooking.

TEACHING BACKGROUND

I graduated with a Genetics degree in Sheffield, England in 1979 so I have a Science background. I have a general teaching qualification Certificate of Education (Post 16) 1997 as I have also taught homeopathy in the past. I qualified to teach English in 2008/9 with the City of Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English (ESOL). When I decided to teach abroad, I wanted an English teaching qualification that was recognised world wide so I qualified in 2013 with the Trinity Certificate TESOL.

ENGLISH CLASSES FOR ADULTS.

I have a wide range of classes adapted to your learning style. Some of the classes can be changed according to your level (beginner, intermediate or advanced). They can also be customised for your particular needs. All classes will come with post class feedback to outline your progress, error corrections and general advice. I speak British English so my teaching will be influenced by that.

If you are unsure of your level you can take the diagnostic assessment before you start. There is one for general English and one for business English. If you are unsure if I am the right person for you take a trial lesson first. If you need some guidance on which course, I can offer you, that would be the best for your needs then you can ask for a guidance session.  If you find the package you want you can start straight away. My lessons are designed for adults at all levels. The lessons can be standard or can be customised to your needs.
