Hello, I’m Matt. I help professionals and academics communicate more clearly, naturally, and confidently in English.

For over 15 years, I have taught English and writing to researchers, university professors, business managers, and executives. I hold an MA and have worked as a PhD researcher and research fellow, with experience supporting people connected to organizations including Japan Tobacco, PwC, Kyoto University, and Oxford.

My lessons are practical and tailored to your real goals: meetings, presentations, conferences, papers, emails, reports, proposals, and professional conversation. I focus on clear communication, natural phrasing, fluency, and confidence.

I give specific, useful feedback and explain the reasons behind revisions so that you can apply what you learn beyond the lesson. I also enjoy talking about soccer, travel, books, language, history, and games.

I look forward to helping you use English more effectively for your work, studies, and international life.
