Hello, and welcome! I’m Gabe Toth—a vocal coach, multi-instrumentalist, and professional performer with approximately 30 years of teaching experience and 40 years of performing experience.
Whether you’re discovering your voice for the first time, returning to music after a long break, or preparing for your next performance, I’d love to help you take that next step.
My lessons combine a musician’s ear, a performer’s perspective, and a teacher’s patience. You can bring your questions, your challenges, and the songs you love. We’ll build from where you are today.
HEAR IT. UNDERSTAND IT. MAKE IT YOUR OWN.
Ear training is central to my teaching. Developing your ability to hear pitch, recognize musical patterns, and connect what you hear with what you sing or play helps you become a more confident, independent musician.
For singers, we connect that listening work with practical exercises in breath coordination, resonance, vowel shaping, and register blending. We then apply those skills to actual songs, so you understand how your practice supports your performance.
Together, we can work toward:
• More accurate pitch and a stronger musical ear
• Easier transitions between vocal registers
• Greater comfort and control throughout your range
• Clearer tone and more expressive phrasing
• Better breath coordination and less unnecessary effort
• Confidence for auditions, performances, recording, or personal enjoyment
LESSONS BUILT AROUND YOU
Your voice, interests, and learning pace are individual. Your lessons should reflect that.
I listen closely, explain concepts in everyday language, and adjust exercises to help you understand what you’re doing and why. If an explanation doesn’t connect, I’ll find another way to teach it.
My style is warm, direct, encouraging, and practical—with room for laughter along the way. You don’t need to arrive sounding polished. Lessons are a place to experiment, ask questions, and develop your skills.
My musical background includes study at Berklee College of Music and experience in live performance, musical theater, arranging, and music production. I enjoy helping students explore pop, jazz, musical theater, and other styles while developing their own musical identity.
BEYOND THE VOICE
I also teach piano, guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, ear training, and music theory. If you’d like to accompany your singing, understand chords, strengthen your rhythm, or connect theory to the music you enjoy, we can bring those goals into our work together.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR FIRST LESSON
We’ll discuss your goals, explore your current skills through a song or a few simple exercises, and identify useful next steps. You’ll leave with a clear focus for practice and a better understanding of how we can work together.
You’re welcome to bring a song you love—or one that’s been giving you trouble!
Choose a lesson here on Cafetalk, and tell me what you’d love to sing, play, or understand better. I look forward to meeting you and making music together.
