Hi! I'm Michael. I am a native English speaker from Washington, D.C. with a passion for language, travel, and meeting new people. I'll also be moving to Japan this August to teach english in schools! 
 
I believe the best language learning happens when you're relaxed, engaged, and actually enjoying yourself. My lessons are about real conversation so you can build the natural confidence to talk with English natives.
 
Before teaching, I spent several years working in professional sales at Dell Technologies and KPMG. This gave me a strong feel for how English is used in professional settings: presentations, work conversations, negotiations, and everything in between. I've also taught English to children and adults through programs abroad, and I bring that same patience and care to every lesson.
 
As someone who has studied langages for most of my life, I understand what it takes learn a language and how much the right teacher can matter. I'm excited to connect with you all and practice English while getting to know each other!
 
My lessons focus on:
  • Free conversation: Relaxed, open-ended discussions on topics that actually interest you
  • Everyday English: Practical language for travel, daily life, and real situations
  • Pronunciation & fluency: Natural rhythm, sounds, and flow that make you easier to understand
These lessons are a great fit if you:
  • Already have a foundation in English and want to sound more natural and confident
  • Work in a professional environment and want to communicate more effectively in English
  • Want a low-pressure environment where making mistakes is part of the process
  • Are looking for a tutor who listens as much as they teach
Outside of teaching, I love cooking, music, fitness, and exploring new places. I'm always up for a great conversation about anything.
