Hello!
I'm Ruth (ルース) from Liverpool, England. Nice to meet you!
In recent years, I found a passion for teaching English. I loved being a teacher in Japan. I've taught all ages and all levels in many different situations.
Experience
In 2010, I achieved a bachelors degree in English Language and Literature and Irish Studies.
A year later, I spent four weeks volunteering as a teacher in Kenya. I taught all ages, but mainly school children.
I gained a masters degree in Creative Writing a couple of years later.
In March 2015, I fulfilled my dream and moved to Japan to work for an English teaching company. I lived in Toyama. There, I taught English in three elementary schools and two junior high schools. After school, and on weekends, I taught adults. I left Japan in July 2017, but I have great memories!
Teaching Style
I take a friendly approach to teaching and prefer to listen to my students's needs. Even the best teachers can improve, so all feedback is welcome. It keeps me being the best teacher I can be, and helps me teach you as you like.
About Me
I am lucky because I have visited many different countries. I find different cultures really interesting. Working with Japanese teachers has given me great respect and understanding for Japanese culture.
The English language is fascinating to me. I hope I can help you think so too!
