English

Hello! My name is Temitayo, and I’m an experienced English teacher who loves helping students become more confident, expressive, and comfortable using English.

Are you looking for a teacher who will patiently listen to you, encourage you to speak, and make English lessons feel less like a classroom and more like an enjoyable conversation? Then I would love to meet you! 

I have over 10 years of experience supporting children and young people in primary, secondary, and international school settings. I have taught and supported learners from different cultural and language backgrounds in Nigeria and the Netherlands. My experience includes working as an English teacher, class teacher, teaching assistant, and student supervisor in British and international school environments.

My teaching style is warm, patient, interactive, and student-centred. I understand that every learner is different, so I like to get to know my students and understand what they want to achieve. Some students want to improve their speaking and pronunciation, while others need help with reading, vocabulary, grammar, school English, or simply want someone to practise English with regularly.

I offer lessons in English conversation, reading, speaking, vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and general English. I can also create lessons around your interests. We can talk about books, travel, food, culture, hobbies, school, everyday life, or any topic that makes you excited to communicate in English.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in English Education, a Master’s degree in Innovation in Teaching and Learning, and a 150-hour TESOL certification. I am also a Microsoft Certified Educator and professionally affiliated with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and World Association of Sign Language Interpreters (WASLI).

I am also the founder of Sign for All Evangelical Drama and Film Outreach Ministry (SAEDFOM), where I combine drama, film, education, and sign language to promote communication and inclusion. This experience has strengthened my creativity, communication skills, and ability to connect with people with different communication and learning needs.

Outside teaching, I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, travelling, writing scripts, storytelling, creative drama, music, learning about different cultures, and spending time with my family. I especially enjoy discovering what interests my students and using those interests to make our lessons more engaging.

I believe you don't have to be perfect to speak English. You just need a safe place to practise. Mistakes are part of learning, and I will be there to encourage you, gently correct you, and celebrate your progress.
