Hello! I'm Chika, and I currently work as a German translator.
Many people think that German is a difficult language, but I can teach you step by step, since I’ve experienced learning a lot of German grammar myself.
Whether you’re a beginner or you’ve already been studying German for awhile, I can help!
Let’s enjoy learning German together!
When I first went to Germany, I spoke absolutely zero German. Therefor, when I started going to language school in Germany, I couldn’t understand what my teacher was saying, and sometimes tears welled up when I was in the classroom. But I’ve now been translating for over 20 years now!
After passing the PNdS (currently “DSH”) and KDS, while also graduating from language school, I went to Studienkolleg to receive a university entrance qualification. After that, I majored in pedagogy and translation at universities in Munich, Düsseldorf and Bonn.
I lived in Germany for about nine years as a freelance translator and interpreter before getting married to my German husband and moving to the UK and living there for 2 years because he was transferred. I currently live in Japan and teach German and English (I have a TOEIC 960 score) while translating.
I’ve taught German to a wide range of people from stay-at-home parents to graduate school students, business workers who are being transferred to Germany, and their partners who are moving with them.
I offer classes for people who have different levels and all kinds of different goals.
Every student has a different way of learning with different goals and expectations.
My lessons are tailored for your needs and level, so I recommend you book a free counseling session with me before we start our lessons so that I can fully understand what your goals are and what you are in need of.
I will design a lesson just for you based on the goals and needs you tell me during this session.
If you have any specific learning material or textbooks in mind, please also tell me about that during our counseling session.
I offer my online lesson via Skype or Zoom. If you don’t have either of these applications, please install them beforehand.
If you are new to online lessons, you might feel slightly nervous (I was first like that as well), but I believe that it is easier to communicate when we can see each others faces, therefor you can learn more out of our lessons! I’m sure that you’ll get used to it in no time!
Grammar is one of the most important aspect in learning German. You will be able to enjoy conversations by understanding German grammar from the basics!
Join me and learn German grammar Schritt für Schritt!
