Hello, I'm Abi! I'm from the Philippines, but now I live in Germany.
[Teaching Background]
Before coming to Germany, I used to live in Tokyo, Japan, where I taught English in a conversational school for 6 years and 8 months. I also trained new teachers. Teaching has been an enjoyable passion of mine! I enjoy getting to know students and helping them improve their English skills!
I have experience teaching students from complete beginners to professionals. So if you're a complete beginner and are scared about making mistakes, don't worry! I'm here to help you build up your confidence as well!
I also have 3 years of experience as an English writing consultant, so I can help you improve your essays, resumes, thesis papers, etc!
To further improve my teaching skills, I underwent the CELTA certification training from Cambridge University at the Berlin School of English in 2025.
[Educational Background]
I have a bachelor's degree in International Studies with a major in Japan Studies. I learned Japanese in university and a year and a half in Aoyama International Education Institute in Tokyo, so I understand the challenges of learning a language. I got my N2 Japanese Language certificate way back in 2015.
Currently, I'm also learning German, which is my fourth language!
[Personal Information]
My hobbies are reading, watching movies or TV series, journaling, and sometimes traveling. I also enjoy cooking and baking.
I also like taking photos and posting some of them on social media.
[About my lessons]
I specialize in conversational English with support on grammar, natural expressions, and pronunciation. I usually prepare the topics for the lesson, but I can also design a lesson based on your own needs and interests.
I want to make sure that you are learning and enjoying your lesson at the same time, so it is important for me to get to know your personal goals and interests. This way, English will be easier to learn!
