Mike Walker 讲师的个人介绍

Hello! I’m Mike, an American who spent more than 22 years living and teaching English in Japan. During that time I developed a genuine passion for helping Japanese learners speak more naturally and confidently in real-life situations. I understand the specific challenges many Japanese students face, and I enjoy creating a relaxed environment where people feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Teaching Background I have extensive experience teaching both group classes and private one-on-one lessons in Japan. I’ve worked with students from young children to older adults, and across many levels — from beginners building basic conversation skills to intermediate and advanced learners who want to sound more natural and fluent. I also recently helped develop English training materials for career advisors focused on the Japanese market. These experiences taught me how to adapt to different learning styles and keep lessons practical and engaging.

Teaching Style My lessons are relaxed, supportive, and highly customizable. The main focus is natural conversation and practical English you can use right away in daily life, work, or travel. You can choose topics that interest you (daily life, work, travel, current events, AI and technology, etc.), or I can prepare useful topics in advance.

I mainly teach adult students of all levels (beginners are very welcome). I also accept children on a special request basis, preferably those who can already read basic sentences, depending on the purpose of the lessons.

My goal is to help you feel more confident and enjoy speaking English.

I’d love to help you speak English more naturally and with greater confidence. Feel free to request a lesson whenever you’re ready — looking forward to talking with you.
