Joel VL 講師的自我介紹

English

I’m Joel, a Canadian living in southern Japan, and my lessons are simple: real conversation about topics that interest you. Zero pressure, and practical English you can actually use.  No need for textbooks, no boring drills, no pretending to understand when you don’t.

Struggling to speak English even though you’ve studied for years?
You don’t need more grammar—you need confidence.
You need a teacher who helps you communicate like a real human being—not a test-taking machine.

I’ve spent many years teaching English in Japan while also working as a videographer, podcaster, interpreter, guide, and silversmith. These experiences have shown me how important and, how powerful communication can be.

What I’ve learned through teaching a wide variety of students is this: you don’t need perfect grammar to have a great conversation—you just need a desire to communicate, and a willingness to make mistakes. Of course, it helps to have a safe space to practice with a teacher who listens and offers useful feedback.

If you’re tired of feeling stuck, shy, embarrassed, or unsure of what to say, I’ll help you build confidence step by step. You’ll learn natural phrases, get easy explanations, and practice speaking in a relaxed, supportive space.
