Hello everyone!! I am Jeru from South India and I am super excited to meet you all :) I have been an online English tutor for 6 months and so far it has shaped me much as a human being. I can vouch that for these past 6 months, I have learnt more than I had ever done at my university. I try to constantly keep up with contemporary jargon, idioms and English trends to make my teaching relevant. I also try to incorporate teaching tools like fun games, story recitation, drawing, free talk etc to make learning a bit more fun.
During my school days, I HATED LEARNING ENGLISH. I despised it so much that I would try to skip English classes and tests. The confusing grammar rules, big vocabulary, and tongue-tying pronunciation made me wanna give up learning. Most importantly, I hated it because I simply couldn’t speak it at all. Well look at me now! I guess God brings you closer to the things you ran away from.
As a non-native speaker myself, I never had someone to pat me on the back and make English fun for me. And this is the exact reason I chose this profession. I wanted to be there for the people who are struggling with English fluency. I am here to prove that speaking English need not be as tough as climbing a mountain. But rather, it can be as easy as sipping a coffee. I believe in the habitual acquisition of English and definitely not forced learning.
One of the biggest fears of every English learner is making mistakes. In our classes, I encourage you to make mistakes because once you make errors, you will get over that fear completely. I want you to remember that I am not a strict teacher but rather would love to sail on the same boat as you. I especially love when we have cultural exchanges, where I talk about my country’s culture, food, music, festivals etc and expect you to do the same as well. I believe that this is the best way to build a healthy rapport, and I am all up for it :)
So gear up, champion! Let’s buckle our belts and steer into the beautiful path of enjoying English together. I believe that English should never be a burden but rather should give you the same comfort as your mother tongue does. I'll be waiting to see you all in our classes. Bye bye!!
I'll be attaching some pictures below. Don't forget to check them out :)
