Hello, my name is Mikako.

I am a Japanese language tutor and home learning support instructor, and I have taught many learners both in Japan and overseas.

What I value in my lessons
In my lessons, I always focus on the following:
Slow and careful explanations
Learning together until you truly understand
Adjusting to each learner’s pace
I also offer pronunciation practice using standard Japanese accent.

Support for children
I have extensive experience supporting children who:
have developmental differences
find it difficult to concentrate
struggle with reading and writing
As a parent of children with learning disabilities and ADHD, I understand how important it is to build confidence step by step.
I always aim to create lessons where children can feel “I did it!” and gain small successes together.

For adult learners
Adult beginners are very welcome.
If you would like to:
start from the basics
review and organize grammar
learn standard Japanese pronunciation
you can join my lessons with confidence, regardless of your level.
When needed, I can also provide simple English explanations to support your understanding.

Materials and trial lessons
I can prepare materials based on your needs, but joining with no materials is also perfectly fine.
Please feel free to book a trial lesson first, and let’s talk about your goals.
