Welcome on my page :D
Hello, my name is Matthias and I really like languages :)
Hallo, ich bin Matthias und ich mag Sprachen sehr gerne :)
I'm living in Germany and I'm always interested in language learning and language exchange. I think these studying languages opens up so many great possibilities to explore the world, other cultures and to meet amazing people!
My Background
I have a master's degree in linguistics through which I was able to gain a lot of knowledge about how languages and their grammar work.
I learned English in school and in my Bachelor's programm and I've been studying Japanese for multiple years, mostly through self-study but also in university classes and during my exchange in Kyoto (the time in Japan was one of the greatest times in my live! ;) )
I've gained some teaching experiences by helping school students in a cram-school to keep up with subjects like Latin and English and supporting them with their homework.
I am also regurarly participating in language exchange events and talk to German students.
My lessons - practice speaking in a safe-space
I have been learning Japanese for almost 6 years now and I know how challenging it can be to practice speaking with natives.
That's what my lessons are here for: I offer German free-talk-lessons for all levels where we can talk about any topics you like. If you're not sure where to start I can provide topics as well :)
Additionally I also offer specific grammar lessons where you can ask me about difficult things you encountered during your studies and we can work through them together.
By taking these lessons you're able to gain confidence with your German and practice speraking in a save environment. Don't be scared of making mistakes! Mistakes are not a sign of failure. Their neccessary while learning so you can improve day by day!
