Hi I’m Tariq. I was born in the UK and have lived and worked here all my life.
I have undertaken a 120-hour Premier TEFL course and recently started teaching English to Japanese students of all ages and abilities. I have excellent speaking and writing skills and now help others learn and improve their use of English. I am passionate about languages and enjoy connecting with people from different cultures.
I'm very flexible as a teacher. I can work on your grammar or expand your vocabulary or if you just want a general conversation to improve your language fluency then we can do that too. My first lesson is very relaxed and laid back and is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and find out what you want to learn.
I'm actually learning German myself right now so I know what it is like to be a language student.
I have a degree in law and previousy worked as a Solicitor for over 23 years across England. My work has often brought me into contact with clients from around the world. Over the years, I have also delivered short training courses and mentored junior colleagues.
My professional experience, knowledge of finance, conduct of meetings, negotiating and marketing, as well as familiarity of the employment market enable me to teach Business English.
I have now left the legal profession and relocated to Scotland last year, close to my favourite city of Edinburgh. I have also lived in other large cities in the UK including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham
My other interests include films especially world cinema, politics and current affairs, reading fiction and non-fiction, sports and doing quizzes.
