I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in English and Theater from Augustana College, where I developed a strong foundation in language, literature, and communication skills. My academic background includes intensive studies in English literature, creative writing, and dramatic arts, which have sharpened my understanding of language structure and storytelling techniques.
I am also a certified TEFL instructor, having completed a 120-hour TEFL course. This certification has provided me with the tools and strategies specifically designed to teach English as a second language, ensuring my lessons are effective, engaging, and tailored to non-native speakers.
I have several years of teaching experience as a substitute teacher in the United States, working across a variety of grade levels and subjects. This role required adaptability, classroom management, and the ability to quickly assess and meet the diverse needs of students. Additionally, I have worked in special education, where I developed a patient and supportive teaching style tailored to individual learning needs.
My teaching methodology emphasizes student engagement and personalized learning. I believe in creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes as part of the learning process. I use a variety of approaches, including interactive activities, real-world applications, and multimedia resources, to make lessons both effective and enjoyable.
