Hi, everyone.
My name is Kaoru. I was born and grown up in Tokyo, Japan. Even though I'm a native Japanese, I've been in U.S.A for over 10 years now.
I recently graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts U.S.A. I took dual major course in "Classical Composition" and "Contemporary Writing & Production." So I have many turoing experience about my instrument, Guitar, but surprisingly, I have a lot more experience in teaching Japanese to my friends rather than instrument.
I was very happy whenever someone asked me to teach my language and culture (most of them are huge fun of Anime and manga, though), so I took it very sincerely. I even took Japanese class in college so I could see how the thing is taught in college class. And of course, I got a free credits for the class! wow!:D
I start teaching Japanese from reading and writing "Hiragana" and "Katakana". I have a bunch of free materials for you!
My guitar class is probably start from doing dayly routine exercise depends on your skill level. I also give you a piece to practice. Just dayly exercise is boring, if you piuck up an instrument, you wanna play actual music, right?
I'm a friendly and easy going guy so you always let me know when you feel you are overwhelmed. I'm here for you to help instead of being your commander.
Besides music and teaching language, I like Martial Arts. I'm a black belt in Karate and blue belt in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. I also practice Muay Thai and fought 3 amature fights so far. Actually, one of my friend asked me to teach him Karate, so I gave him a few lessons. He really liked and asked me to continue but, you know, college students are so busy, so we couldn't keep going at the time. If you are interested in those thing, we can talk entire time!
You are encourage to bring materials you'd like to work on with me. Anime, manga, J-pop, whatever you like is good for me!
